BANGKOK: After a two-year break, the second Ms. Universe National event was held from September 11-14 at the Amari Watergate Bangkok Hotel.

The candidates came from all over the world and represented the United States, Japan, Belarus, the Philippines, Laos, Kenya, the Czech Republic, India, Thailand, Russia, Puerto Rico and Sweden. Over the four days, the ladies were judged on their social skills, confidence, personality, communication skills, presentation on stage and in front of the camera, catwalk skills, English language skills and more.

For four days, the women participated in a cooking competition led by Chef Marco, chef at the Italian restaurant Prego in Amari. The ladies also participated in a contemporary Thai flower arrangement competition hosted by Thailand’s top florist, Sakul Inthakul. Together with national and international media representatives, the beauties made a day trip to Ayutthaya, the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A large crowd attended the grand finale in the hall of Amari Watergate. The evening started with Mister National Universe 2022, Viet Hoang from Vietnam, entertaining the crowd with an energetic dance number. Thai socialite, business woman and philanthropist Khun Sumanee Guna Kasem, honorary chair of the competition, gave the opening speech. On the night of the grand final, the women were judged on their answers to several questions and an evening dress round.

After all the votes were tallied, the winners were announced:

  • Monicah W Breschini from Kenya was awarded the title of Mrs. National World 2022.
  • Marie Abigael Villanuava Abalos-Bayuga of the Philippines was honored in the Mrs. National Globe 2022 category.
  • The most awaited award Mrs National Universe 2022 received Lenka Marie Vomocil from the Czech Republic.
  • The Thai woman Sutta Kiddee got twon Title for Ms. Universe National Asia 2022.

The Ms. Universe National election was organized and run by Tanya Siri Vijitsomphong, a Thai entrepreneur, media personality and Editor and Creative Director of HOT Magazine, a luxury magazine based in Bangkok. According to Tanya, “Women’s National Makeup Universe is a way to encourage exceptional women who believe that being married or having children should not stop them from pursuing their dreams”. Women between the ages of 30 and 55 can vote.
