The two victims own Cheng Enterprises in Negros Oriental.
The driver, who declined to give his name, said Quiyan and Zhuang got out of the car to open the garden gate of their house.
“Then an unidentified person on a motorcycle appeared and grabbed Quiyan’s bag,” the driver said, adding, “However, Quiyan resisted and refused to drop his bag, after which the assailant shot him in the chest and neck.”
Zhuang tried to help, but the attacker shot him in the stomach.
The victim’s driver tried to ram the attacker’s motorcycle, but the attacker managed to escape.
Quiyan was pronounced dead on arrival at the Urgent Care Clinic while Zhuang is still under observation at a private hospital in Dumaguete City.
Investigators have not yet identified the attacker, who was wearing a black jacket and cowboy hat.
