“There are days and news you never thought would come. Besides, it’s not easy to put it into words. Exactly one of those days was last Thursday. In an internal team meeting, our head coach René Fuchs informed us that he would be leaving his position based on the latest results. A great shock and loss to us all!” With these emotional words, HSV Barmbek-Uhlenhorst II announces the end of the “Fuchser’s” coaching job on Dieselstraße!

René Fuchs stood on the sidelines for many years. Whether in Langenfort or in the stadium on Dieselstraße – it was actually still to be found on the grounds. After the recent defeats, some of which were important, this is the end for the time being – at least with coaches on the sidelines.

Because: BU II coach Rene Fuchs has stepped down since coaching the men’s second (before the men’s third) last week.

A “real Barmbeker” will leave his team and ensure that a new impetus can now bring a change. If someone holds this office for many years, celebrates success, identifies incredibly with a club and then acts so disinterestedly, it is rated even higher and all honorable. Hats off!

They started the season with three points from eight games and fell short of their own expectations. After the last important defeat, the team did not exactly burst with self-confidence and got in their own way in many situations.

Fuchs took over the team in the summer of 2016 and led it directly into the district league in his first season. There he quickly established the team and in the summer of 2020 made it to the district league in a head-to-head duel with Viktoria Harburg. The crowning glory came in the summer of 2022, when the Heino-Gerstenberg Cup was brought to Barmbek for the first time in the club’s history.

The team emotionally said goodbye to the outgoing coach and wrote an honorable “Facebook Post”. What it will look like in the future on the coaching bench of the new second men will probably be decided in the coming days.

The team’s message in the word:

AN ERA IS ENDING – THANKS, FUCHSER!

There are days and news that you never thought would come. Besides, it’s not easy to put it into words.

Exactly one of those days was last Thursday. In an internal team meeting, our head coach René Fuchs informed us that he would be leaving his position based on the latest results. A great shock and loss to all of us!

Fuchser was our coach for six years, and he was there with heart and passion for the team and for the whole club. He made history with promotion from the district league (2016/17) and the district league (2019/20) and crowned his personal history with last year’s cup victory!

We will inform you of a successor in due course.
__________

This is definitely the heaviest post we’ve ever had. Many of us have known you since we were young. We all appreciate and love you Fuchser. You have trained each and every one of us and certainly contributed to their success in the past. We as a team must apologize for letting you down with our performance in recent weeks! You will always be a part of us!
